What will the role of Assistant Merchandiser involve?

Right stock, right place, right time for our customers – you get it as you know about merchandising. It’s all about the numbers; what you see, the decisions you take and how you impact that bottom line.

Prepare forecasts to ensure sales, stock holding, margin and availability is optimised
Ensure that forecasted demand represents a true forward view of customer requirement and where relevant work with demand forecasting team to adapt demand planner to achieve strong forecast accuracy
Understanding and use of the WSSI systems in the management of intake and the stock position
With support of Merchandiser/Senior Merchandiser, work with the buying team to review weekly trading performance on KPIs and to identify any issues and opportunities, prepare relevant analysis as required by the Merchandiser/Senior Merchandiser
Responsible for maintaining accurate records of commitment in order to provide stock intake and output forecasts
Work with the replenishment teams to plan initial allocations & launch builds & ensure that stock & availability targets are met
Monitor and update item line flows/line cards in all channels and recommend actions to Merchandiser to maximise sales opportunity and minimise risk

What I need to know:

Curious, analytical and commercially aware you’ll either possess a relevant degree or have gained some experience within a retail, store or head office environment (buying, merchandising, allocation, supply chain, planning)

Ability to prioritise; managing time and workloads to achieve key deadlines
Attention to detail with strong numerical, planning and analytical skills
Experience with MS Office is essential (strong ability with Excel is beneficial)
Good working relationships with the buying team, to grow the departments
