Business Analyst

In a nutshell

You’ll bring clarity to complicated situations in the business. You’ll manage the scope, requirements analysis and business context of solution design for a project or workstream. Typical business analysis activity includes planning, eliciting, analysing, defining, communicating and validating requirements for changes to structures, business operations and processes, products and service offerings, policies and information systems.

Delivery of successful Business Analyst activity supporting implementation, whilst establishing & maintaining stakeholder relationships.

What you’ll be doing

Driving business engagement to understand, challenge and document underlying business needs, translating these into project scope, objectives and requirements.
Designing and facilitating business need workshops to analyse, define and prioritise requirements, challenge thinking and agree outcomes.
Translating complex / technical issues to meet the audience's competency level.
Capturing, manipulating & analysing information and data.
Defining and managing the documentation of business requirements (including requirements catalogues and traceability matrices) and preparing business cases, underpinning solution options.
Understanding and articulating the effect of proposed solutions, creating accurate and detailed as-is and to-be business models, incorporating process and benefit analysis, people and customer impact assessment.
Developing service user acceptance plans and communications.
Engaging a variety of stakeholders across priority business/product areas, owning and gathering specification input, delivering high quality work and maintaining relationships post project close.
Building and maintaining effective working and influencing relationships to share knowledge and best practice. Taking responsibility for self-development, actively seeking and providing feedback.
Taking ownership of resolution of business analysis issues, identifying and driving mitigating actions against design risks, as directed by the Lead Business Analyst.

What you need to know and show

Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to confidently challenge & ask probing questions.
Exceptional communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively with anyone in any environment.
Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure, whilst supporting stakeholders with clashing priorities.
Demonstrate an ability to think and reason logically.
Excellent team player with ability to work closely with others to deliver results.
Proven track record of working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider team.
Experience in the Financial Services industry, or within a regulated environment.
Strong experience within a digital environment, working on a mobile app, would be very advantageous.
Previous Business Analyst experience is preferred, however those with a good understanding of how projects & business changes work will be considered.
Excellent written communication skills to produce business and project reports.
Highly numerate, with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Customer focused.
