In this role, you will be responsible for business partnering the Operations division in their resource planning and managing FTE reporting for AFS. In addition, the role will support and develop consideration of cost reporting improvements, review and manage company discretionary expenditure and oversee key cost centre reporting across the business.
This is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract, based at our Milton Keynes office. We will consider flexible working in this role.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
Support of the period end process in relation to the FS cost base. This will include providing insight and analysis of month end results and supporting the Cost Manager and cost reporting accountant in production of key reports used to explain performance and assistance in the production of key data for Sainsbury’s Bank and the FS Board report.
This role will business partner the operations division and support their resource planning area with financial insight and commentary.
The role will specifically manage the FTE reporting for AFS a significant part of our cost base and a key area of the business working across the group to improve the level of data and understanding.
Supporting the consolidation and presentation of the total AFS cost budgets and forecasts, including working with business stakeholders in the production of agreed budgets and understanding movements, providing analysis and commentary.
Supporting the Cost Manager in half year and full year financial close. This includes supporting audit requirements and preparing outturns for submission to the Finance Director and Group functions.
Your skills & experience will include:
Working in a busy high pressure finance role, partnering with a business and working closely with non-finance colleagues.
Able to analyse data, spot trends and define clear actions.
Commercial awareness with excellent planning and organisational skills, plus an ability to balance a large range of priorities.
Effective networking and stakeholder management skills across a range of stakeholders in a range of roles, working at a range of levels.
Able to work on own initiative with drive & motivation, as well as proven experience working successfully as part of a team.
Resilience and tenacity.
Able to use appropriate IT applications effectively (including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
