Senior Commercial Manager

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our Argos Financial Services (AFS) Cards Product team. Ideally you will come from a background in retail finance.

In this role you’ll be working closely with Head of Cards Product Management and hold responsibility for the delivery of the Argos Store Card P&L via the management of the existing card & identification of new opportunities. Commercial development of the product will be driven from the analysis of performance with initiatives to grow income. Management of the product will include the tracking and regular assessment of the product KPIs to ensure performance to budget it understood and delivery of any initiatives to grow income, are to time.

As Senior Commercial Manager, you will;

Deliver Store Card P&L by collaborating closely within own Product team along with Credit Risk, Operations, Marketing and Finance teams.
Identify new opportunities to expand the product offer palette, address customer needs, enhance balance build and sustain portfolio income build.
Drive front-of-wallet card usage, working with Marketing to deliver tactical spend promotions and trigger-based actions, as well as longer-term change to product propositions and marketing platforms.
Work closely with the Credit Risk and Operations teams to optimise portfolio programmes such as authorisations, card re-issue and exposure management programmes.
Identify and implement initiatives to improve overall group profitability.
Develop a structured test-and-learn campaign management process and tracker, working closely with Marketing, to continuously feed into all existing customer marketing activities.
Own all customer-level KPIs, including forecasting and performance tracking.
Provide input into financial planning process and proactively address risks and opportunities.
Represent AFS at various industry forums and keep abreast of market trends, assessing the impact of these on the product suite and make recommendations.

As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will have;

A minimum of five years’ experience in a commercial product ownership role within the Financial Services industry, preferably in retail finance or credit cards
Extensive experience in delivering customer engagement and development programmes, again preferably in a credit card business.
Experience with P&L management and financial analysis.
Experience of tracking delivery in complex environments & excellent programme management skills.
A highly commercial approach with outstanding problem-solving skills and a strong customer instinct.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, you’ll be able to communicate with impact and articulate complex data to a wide array of audiences.
Strong influencing and relationship-building skills across all levels.
A passion for delivering the best products & service to the customer.
Part of the future plan is to introduce a direct report for this role, so you’ll need experience of managing a Junior Manager level colleague.
