Retail Performance Finance Analyst

Role Overview:

The Retail Finance Team provide insightful and challenging analysis which supports business decisions to maximise profit.

In this role you will business partner the Director of Retail and the Retail Leadership Team and their teams to support the delivery of the Retail objectives. You will proactively drive and provide insightful analysis across the entire store portfolio to improve profitability as well as helping to shape future store investment by understanding performance of current investments.

As Retail Performance Finance Analyst your role will involve:

Weekly and periodic reporting on stores performance and delivery against relevant targets, seeking to provide actionable insight behind the numbers.
Present information to help drive insight of stores financial performance and opportunities to add value, supporting ad hoc queries that may arise from this insight and daily operations.
Help create action plans to improve under-performing stores and work with the Retail Operations team to embed them.
Provide sound financial insight and analysis to ensure that all operational decisions are carried out with full consideration of the financial impact and can be implemented within current operational constraints.
Build, manage and retain strong relationships with our internal stakeholders, being the Retail Operational team, the Operational Development team and the relevant finance teams.
Work closely with the FP&A Centre of Excellence, specifically the Accounting and Reporting, Financial Accounting and Analytics teams to provide an end-to-end service to our stakeholders.
Business partner the Operations teams to help them understand performance of any trials in existing stores and make recommendations to maximise value creation.

Your skills & experience will include:

Ideally be a Qualified Accountant with indicative 0-3 years post qualified experience.
Strong commercial acumen, curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries and ability to understand key business drivers.
Ability to positively and proactively engage key stakeholders to build credible relationships whilst retaining professional integrity.
Ability to present complex financial information in a simplified manner.
Strong analytical, excel and power point skills with attention to detail. SQL desirable but not required.
Experience working in a retail environment would be desirable but not essential.
