Senior Product Manager: Fulfilment
Did you know Argos is the largest UK based online retailer?
With over 60% of transactions going through our website and apps, and 70% of those on mobile devices, Argos is truly a digital and technology first retailer.
Most people in the UK have shopped with us at some point. And most of them will have used one of our digital channels - whether it's Argos.co.uk, our award-winning apps or the custom-designed tablets in our digital stores. Working at Argos, you'll be helping millions of people to get what they want, when they want it... and hopefully raise a smile in the process
We may be big on the outside... but on the inside we've worked hard to create a culture that feels just like a start-up. If you work here, you'll get the best of both worlds.
Here at Argos, we are looking for Senior Product Manager to join the team in our London Victoria office, where you will be responsible for the successful delivery of high valued customer experiences around fulfilment or the when, where and why or getting what the customer wants to the customer. This involves working with a broad range of IT and senior business stakeholders, both within Sainsbury’s Argos and across the broader Sainsbury’s Group, as well as influencing other product management groups across the company.
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with stakeholders across the business and IT functions including other Product Managers, business leaders and Development managers (up to and including SM level)
Communicating clearly and regularly, being the expert on various fulfilment experiences, their rationale and value to customers and therefore the business
Combining a strategic focus alongside a tactical roadmap. Aware of the broader IT and business strategy, you will prioritise and help deliver fulfilment-based customer experiences in a manner mindful of this broader landscape and its impact / benefit for the customer
Participating in technical discussions to understand and have the ability to communicate the impact of technical dependencies upon which the experience is based
Working with stakeholders to understand the rationale/why and to surface / supporting the resolution of ambiguity and conflicting demands
Working alongside other Product Managers to deliver the experiences customers need to improve interaction and expectations of purchasing from Argos.
Providing support and mentoring to help develop less experienced members of the team
Creating well defined product roadmaps balancing business and experience requirements with customer at the heart
Degree level or experience that demonstrates this level of thinking capability
Extensive experience in a software engineering environment delivering complex experiences
Strong understanding of agile software development and how to build software creating customer value helping to reinforce and evolve practices and methodologies
Direct experience of designing, prioritising and help deliver large, successful, cross-group customer experiences in an agile environment
Experience in Retail systems and E-Commerce
Strategic thinker but experience of combining this with detailed product execution
Technical and business acumen
Know the customer experience landscape, understand and can describe experiential choices and trade-offs to different stakeholders within and outside of IT and digital product
So why should you work for us?
Agile working.?Everyone says they do agile... but we do it the proper way. That means you'll work to a roadmap but we flex and change direction as needed. If it's right for our customers, it's right for our business.
Tangible results.?You'll get stuff live - a lot. Last year we launched 329 new features on our digital channels. That's an average of 1 feature per working day.
Talented teams. We only hire the best - everyone here is an expert in their discipline. So you can trust and learn from them... and we're getting stronger every day.
Co-located colleagues? To be genuinely collaborative, we all sit together: STPM's, PMs, UXAs, UIs, Copywriters, UXR... and yes, our Devs & QAs are on site too!
New technology.?We're truly tech-driven. That's why we're already investing in future tech trends like AR, conversational commerce, machine learning and AI.
Real ownership.?You're the driving force behind your area. And you'll have just the right balance of autonomy and support to make it a success.
