Welcome to Sainsbury's Argos

At Sainsbury’s Argos, it’s our aim to become the digital market leader in choice, value and convenience. Since Argos became part of the Sainsbury’s group in September 2016 forming Sainsbury’s Argos we are now one of the largest General Merchandise and Clothing businesses in the UK with over 90,000 products across 2200 stores.

To help grow the General Merchandise and Clothing parts of our business our Commercial and Finance teams based in our Store Support Centres have never been more important. The Commercial teams are the people who ultimately source and provide the customers the products they want when they want them whilst the Finance teams provide support across the business and help make crucial decisions to ensure we fulfil our future vision and goal.

Together we have a great opportunity to build a brilliant future and do a fantastic job for all our customers and you have the opportunity to help support this as you grow your career with us.

We have 3 main sites where our Commercial and Finance teams are based; our Store Support Centres in Ansty Park (Coventry), Milton Keynes, Holborn (London). Below is a brief overview of the key departments in the Commercial and Finance functions, if you click on the relevant pictures you will see our current vacancies displayed for these areas.

The Buying function sources product from suppliers at the best quality and the right cost. For every new product, they work closely with other departments to understand our customer requirements, develop the product specification to meet their need and to ensure consistent quality and supply. They also work with other teams to create the most appropriate launch and to market the product and they always consider ethical issues. So there’s a huge amount of collaborative work that goes into getting new products right for our customers.
.

In short Supply Chain is responsible for ordering and accurately forecasting some 1000’s of products through to over 2200 stores. They are a lean, fast-paced operation, looking to achieve the optimum balance between customer availability, stock and product wastage. Their overall insight and control ensures we are perfectly placed to identify cost-savings, create more efficient processes and make a difference to the sales and profit line of the business.
.

Merchandising plays a critical role in the commercial success of the organisation. They ensure that our Stores and Online division have the right combinations of offers, deals and products to meet their customers’ requirements. So they work closely with Marketing to understand what future trends may develop and what sort of stock to allocate to which areas. So there’s a large amount of financial planning and forecasting involved.
.

There is not a single part of Sainsbury’s Argos that Finance does not play an active role in. We partner with the Commercial functions, working closely with Trading, Supply Chain, Merchandising and Replenishment team to support the management of costs, improve margins and maximise revenue across all of our product ranges. They are really connected to the business, so we feel close to our customers and close to our values.
