It’s funny I’ve ended up in a tech role because I actually did journalism at university. That’s one of the great things about the graduate programme I joined. I got to experience different parts of the business and try new things. I discovered I had an interest in digital development. Even though I didn’t have a background in this area, they saw my potential and gave me all the support and training I needed.
“My role is fast moving. New digital technology is emerging all the time, so there are always updates and changes to be made. Right now it’s exciting though, because we’re halfway through a major transformation programme, which is moving us from our traditional shop model to a digital system. It can sometimes be a steep learning curve, but I love that.”
“One of my highlights so far has been the Argos Hackathon. It was a two-day competition that saw our teams working with other great innovators from the industry (such as Google) and brainstorming new ideas. I was really proud that my team’s 60 Second Pay and Pick Up project made the top three.”
