I joined Argos over 13 years ago as a Junior Designer and worked my way up to Senior Designer in the four years I was originally there. I then moved across to Homebase, which was at that point part of Home Retail Group. I spent two years there, then left the Group altogether to work for a health and beauty firm. I came back after three years and now I’m now Design Manager for Argos.
“Reacquainting with my old team, and the chance to play a major role in the transformation project was too exciting to refuse. Being part of the new brand launch in 2014 is one of the highlights of my career. For the launch, we played the new ads and the brand guidelines on huge screens in the atrium. There were streamers flying everywhere and people hanging over the balconies to watch. It gave me a great sense of pride to see how our work brought everyone together.”
“The other thing that brought me back was the chance to manage the transformation of our catalogue, with the aim to drive more customers online – it’s an amazing opportunity to own a really important project. It’s actually one of my main focuses at the moment: we develop graphics packs, templates and guidelines for people to follow. I genuinely love having the creative control to experiment and innovate.”
