Digital Planning Manager (Events)
Play a leading role within the digital planning function which ensures consistent, high quality, cross functional planning of key category, seasonal and set piece events.
Maintain & update a set of digital campaign principles, which are founded in analytics & customer experience data.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, to ensure the Digital Planning function operates efficiently within the function & wider business.
Play an active role the homepage planning process, building on input from other teams within the Digital Trading function.
Deputise for the Senior Digital Planning Manager when required.
Manage a team of 3 digital planning executives.
KEY RESULT ARES
Accountable for the execution of the digital campaign plan
Work with the Senior Digital Planning manager on the annual digital campaign plan, in conjunction with marketing teams and other teams in the digital trading function.
Build robust processes for event planning and execution that are aligned with other cross functional teams.
Ensure a consistent approach to campaign planning along with consistent interaction with other key stakeholders around the business.
Work closely with the other planning managers to ensure any event/campaign activities are included within the overall department plan, and will not negatively impact the rest of the digital trading function.
Support the creation of a digital first approach to event planning at Argos
Establish strong ways of working and processes that deliver against agreed targets and metrics.
Ensure all campaign activities are “washed up” using data & analytics.
Build strong working relationships across the marketing and commercial trading teams.
Establish strong information sharing ahead of campaign planning across the business to ensure that digital metrics are taking into considerations e.g. data from natural search teams / onsite search.
Represent the wider Digital operations team in event/campaign planning, and deputise for the Senior Digital Planning Manager where necessary.
Lead a team of 3 Digital Planning Executives
Lead, coach & develop the team ensuring they understand their objectives and the role they play within the Digital Planning function.
Ensure appropriate training needs are identified to support the development of team individuals and processes.
Recruit and retain a highly skilled team.

Job holder needs to be aware of financial impacts of decisions and to ensure risks & opportunities are mitigated / flagged to budget holder.
DIMENSIONS (BREADTH OF ROLE & IMPACT WITHIN THE ORGANISATION)
Operating cross the full breadth of Argos trading categories along with significant stakeholder management across wider business functions particularly digital operations teams, Commercial Development team, Marketing & trading teams.
Required to communicate the digital plans and priorities to key stakeholders around the business. Ensure key requirements from other parts of the business (e.g. Commercial Trading) are understood and acted on. Effective communication, influencing and relationship building will be key to success.
Responsible for the effective implementation of key projects within the digital trading team
DIMENSIONS (STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT)
Job holder needs to be capable of influencing to a director level across the wider Commercial Trading, Digital and Marketing teams along with any other relevant functions.
Job holder needs to be capable of securing support for proposals & plans across functions.
The role is expected to represent digital trading (and on occasions the wider Digital Operations team) and partake and contribute in a variety of forums and meetings often with senior stakeholders.
Job holder to be able to build & develop relationships & effectively influence external agencies & organisations up to director management level.
