AFB Commercial Finance Manager

The Role:

Argos for Business supports small businesses to large corporates, public sector organisations to charities to save time and money. We have a range of solutions from a Business Account to make every day purchasing easier to bulk buying options on over 50,000 products, plus a range of ways to offer rewards within business’s.

As Commercial Finance Manager, you will be the key finance contact for all commercial and strategic decisions made in Argos for Business. Sitting on the Leadership Team, the role plays a key role supporting and challenging the team by providing insight to support decision making in both the Merchandise and Gifting Argos business to business sectors.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

Business partnering the Commercial Operations Manager for Argos for Business and their Leadership Team.
Work with heads of Gifting and Merchandise to give support and challenge on tactical and strategic initiatives to drive sales and profitability.
Responsible for ensuring the profitability of new commercial clients and leading reviews of current client base.
Responsible for period end reporting, commentary and leading review with Leadership Team to ensure a forward looking, strategic approach.
Responsible for all budgeting and forecasting activities, leading the process and liaising with finance and non-finance colleagues to ensure a timely, robust process with the buy in of key stakeholders.
Work with finance colleagues to ensure accurate reporting of AfB costs and that risks and opportunities are understood and flagged to stakeholders in AfB and Central Finance.

Your skills & experience will include:

Qualified Accountant with proven management level experience, ideally gained within a commercial role.
Experience in business partnering senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders.
Strong commercial acumen, curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries and ability to understand key business drivers.
Strong influencing skills and ability to build relationships and present to non-finance colleagues.
Strong Presentational skills to ensure key elements of insight can be drawn out in presentations.
Strong analytical skills supported by strong IT skills in Excel / Powerpoint.
Be assertive, challenging and confident individual with strong inter-personal skills.
Be a self-starter and have ability to seek out opportunities to drive improvements.
