Digital Analytics Technology Manager

We’re looking for a Digital Analytics Technology expert to head up our technology and implementation team. The team is accountable for our digital analytics and optimisation technology stacks, ensuring we collect high quality data in an efficient manner and have the right tools to deliver great insight and test results to the business. With three direct reports, this role will lead the analytics technology roadmap and ongoing data governance strategy.

We’re partway through a project to reimplement all of our analytics using the latest technology so this role will also be reviewing how we make the most of our new set-up and putting in place effective processes and leadership to fully exploit the opportunity.

The technology team is part of a Digital Intelligence team, and you’ll be working alongside our optimisation, insight and reporting teams, reporting into the Digital Intelligence Controller.

Key Responsibilities

This role will be accountable for:

Our digital analytics technology roadmap, including tag management, data architecture, analytics tools and AB/MV testing technical framework – working with key stakeholders include the analysts, product, engineering and the broader Digital and Business organisation
Effective implementation of these technologies to ensure they meet key business needs in the most efficient manner
Data governance / data integrity, proactively keeping us on the front foot, making sure our data is high quality and any issues are flagged up-front
Ongoing improvements to our technology & implementation processes, enabling cross-team collaboration, effective prioritisation, great communications and risk mitigation


Excellent technical knowledge of managing digital analytics and AB/MV testing technology, ideally including data collection, tag management, data architectures.
Strong influencer and collaborator, with great credibility, able to influence at stakeholder and peers.
Great communicator, able to judge ideal frequency, approach and level of detail to share information with a range of audiences, whether technical or non-technical
Clear understanding of the need to consider broader implications of technical decisions beyond original use cases and to mitigate risks and/or communicate these where relevant
Well-organised, experienced at optimising internal processes effectively using development methodologies and tools such as agile, JIRA and Confluence.
Business-focussed and pragmatic, understanding the trade-offs involved in technology decisions; experience in building business cases for technology investments would be desirable
Problem-solver, able to explore creative ways to resolve technical issues in the most effective way if standard best practices cannot be used
Experience in line management, with strong coaching and development skills
Experience of using Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target and Tealium would be an advantage
