If you are looking for an administration role with a systems bias and a career path within a retail head office environment then this could be just the job for you! This is a great opportunity to join us as a Merchandise Database Assistant on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract where you will provide a comprehensive systems/administration service to the Merchandise division. The role would suit somebody who has good data entry skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
What you will be doing:
Maintaining and updating the corporate mainframe systems (product, pricing and supplier), to provide working data and reports to the trading teams which aid in the selection and ordering processes, trading performance controls and management reports.
Creating and maintaining accurate databases of correspondence and information to produce documentation to suppliers and external contacts on behalf of senior management.
Providing a problem solving and logging service in respect of all applications and systems in the merchandise division to ensure that all queries can be actioned and resolved satisfactorily.
Ensuring the information received from suppliers on product specification forms is accurate and complete. Where discrepancies are identified, ensuring accurate data is received from suppliers.
Providing a customer service and support facility to the whole of the merchandise division.
Managing the data entry, collation and despatch of legal documents relating to products and suppliers in line with the Company's due diligence policy to pre-defined deadlines.
To be considered for this role you should ideally have some administration experience gained within an office environment. At minimum you must possess excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook and Excel) and the ability to pick up new systems and databases quickly when trained. You must have excellent attention to detail, strong communications skills and a good level of numeracy with a minimum of A-C grade in Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent.
We are looking for someone to join us in this varied role, with previous experience in a computerised office environment. You will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, be numerate and have attention to detail. You will possess excellent communication and organisation ability within a team to meet pre-defined deadlines.
