Head of Clothing Online

Right now our outstanding Digital Team is on the hunt for a Head of Online to lead the direction of the Tu Clothing Digital business unit across Sainsbury's and Argos web platforms.

We see this as a key role in the Sainsbury’s Argos digital leadership teams. Working in partnership with the Heads of Design, Buying and Merchandising to define and execute the clothing online strategy and Identifying and unlocking opportunities to drive sustainable increases in sales, profit, and online market share.

About the role

Lead and coach the team to determine the strategic direction for clothing online and ensure engagement with key stakeholders. Guaranteeing that the strategy is coordinated across all divisions, channels and customer segments.
Support the team in building knowledge of the market, customers and competitors in order to gain competitive advantage.
Enable and support the development of the cross-category plan for online, and support the coordination of promotional and event plans to ensure effective delivery across web platforms.
Coach and support the team in working with the clothing categories to embed strategic frameworks, improve commercial performance, including but not limited to sales, profit, and market share.
Help create an environment where individuals and teams are encouraged to think differently, to challenge and create solutions, land new concepts, and enhance customer experiences.
To regularly review broader clothing processes and activities, identifying and implementing improvements and sharing best practises.
To lead, manage, inspire, and motivate the team, managing their performance in line with divisional objectives
Support the construction of compelling business cases to secure funding for initiatives and projects.
Support the creation of broader digital strategy for Sainsbury’s Argos
Ensure that the online clothing P&L is managed closely, exceeding targets for revenue, cost control and profit (operating profit & EBITDA).
Ensure the continued development of the online customer experience, optimising customer journeys, aiming to increase frequency, retention and new customer acquisition.
Coordinate with Logistics and operational colleagues to continually improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Champion the creation of high functioning ways of working between online and partnering functions.
Appropriately challenge technology partners to maximise customer access to the web sites and minimise down time.
Ensure full compliance with legal and data governance policies.

About you

Significant experience of operating and leading a digital or online business unit, preferably in fashion
Proven ability to communicate a clear vision and inspire, motivate and coach a large team to achieve outstanding performance.
The ability to lead, manage and coach a large team, identifying and managing talent
Recent relevant experience in a comparable role within retail, preferably within fashion.
Ability to deliver departmental strategies over short and long term up to 3- 5 years in the future.
Market and customer focused
Excellent commercial, trading and data interpretation skills.
Ability to work & problem solve cross-functionally in a complex organisational structure, prioritising and managing multiple tasks.
Broad range of Stakeholder management, High level of influence and impact skills up to board Director level.
Knowledge of driving change through a complex organisation
