The Finance Systems Team is the cog in the machinery of the Finance department within Sainsbury’s Argos. It is our responsibility to ensure the Finance systems operate and integrate with each other correctly, understand system dependencies and ensure data flows across the systems so that colleagues can rely on it.

As Finance Systems Assistant Analyst, you will ensure the data integrity between Lawson General ledger, Essbase and HFM as well as General ledger maintenance. The job holder will provide first line support in resolving issues quickly and efficiently and ensuring that agreed service levels are met.
As Assistant Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:
Maintenance of Lawson General Ledger & Essbase chart of accounts.
Completion of daily General Ledger tasks in line with agreed service level.
Provide first line support for user queries relating to Essbase & Lawson General Ledger.
Ensure data integrity between Lawson & Essbase and that any issues are resolved.
Loading of Budgets/forecasts, ensuring the integrity of data between the two systems.
Conduct the month end processes in line with the period end timetable.
Data loading and reconciliation of HFM.
Maintenance and Support of Webseries systems and online Banking Systems.
Ensure Processes and Procedures are fully up to date.
Your skills & experience will include:
A part qualified accountant studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW.
Practical accounting experience is required as this will enable the jobholder to place some perspective around the day to day objectives of the position.
Strong Microsoft skills are vital to this position, in particular the role requires advanced Excel.
Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
Fantastic interpersonal skills, an empathetic nature and a good sense of humour
Enthusiastic, positive and proactive engagement of key Finance and non-Finance stakeholders (e.g. members of the IT Department)
Strong engagement, presentation and communication skills
A desire for continuous improvement to be best in class
