Exciting opportunity has become available for an Analytics & Project Manager to join our Analytics Finance team, which will report into the Analytics Financial Controller within Sainsbury’s Argos.

The Analytics Finance team leads the development of strategic financial/commercial analytical tools in collaboration with non-finance partners to drive better quality business insight which enables the business to make quicker, more effective decisions that can enhance performance across all areas of the business.
In a nutshell you will:
Lead teams of cross functional / divisional professionals to deliver new analytics tools and then lead the roll-out of these tools across the relevant business teams.
Drive profitable business decisions through turning new and innovative data and analytics into meaningful insight and action, working closely with the commercial and operational teams across the business to deliver and track the business benefits.
Work closely with the Analytics Development Manager and Analytics and Insight Manager to prioritise, manage and roll-out a program of innovative analytics development across the broader finance teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading cross functional teams to deliver key projects, including:
Designing, Building and integrating a Sales & Operational Planning model which allows for dynamic and real time updates to our category sales plan to flow all the way through into our operational resource and stock and supply plans allowing the business to achieve cost savings and resource efficiencies when making tactical decisions. This project will also streamline our budgeting and forecasting process.
Customer Profitability Model –This project will focus on developing a view of customer profitability to enable key analysis into fundamental tactical and strategic questions about maximising customer profitability. This will involve leading a project to design, build and implement this model and then work with our commercial and operational teams to analyse the data and drive better business decisions.
Promotions & Pricing strategy – This project is at the request of our Commercial Director who wants to understand our pricing and promotions performance in more granular detail. Then the aim is to use this data and insight to drive more profitable decision on our value strategy as a business. As a lead of this project you will be responsible for leading a team of people to design and create a database with the capability to provide this information and then drive through embedding this into the Commercial teams’ processes and regular decision making.

Qualified Finance professional with relevant experience.
Strong team leadership and management skills and experience in leading and developing a team with a wide variation in experience levels, abilities and deliverables,
Prior experience in delivering / managing key projects throughout life cycle.
Enthusiastic, positive and proactive engagement of key stakeholders to build credible relationships whilst retaining professional integrity.
Significant experience managing, influencing and challenging a large and complex set of stakeholders, holding others accountable.
A track record of driving value accretion and continuous improvement.
Experience in a large company environment, preferably retail.
A desire for continuous improvement to be best in class.
Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
Experience within operational and commercial finance teams is desired.
