We are currently looking for an Analyst to join the Value Strategy team on a 6 month Fixed Term contract.
Reporting in to the Price Reporting & Intelligence Manager, you will support with regular reporting, analysis and insight to Senior Stakeholders.

In this role you will:
Maintain suite of reports for the Trading and Executive management team, to support sound commercial decision making at all levels
Carry out project-based analysis modelling the impact of changes in pricing strategy to drive sales and/or margin as required
Adapt to changing business priorities, drawing out any changes in Competitor landscape
Diagnose and challenge erroneous data
Support analysis of upcoming printed publications, cross-functionally influencing to deliver year on year improvement
Provide group training, and one-to-one help to enable users to fully utilise data
Deliver articulate conclusions through written notes, presentations as well as orally
Act as a link between Trading and other relevant teams in the business to deliver results that have cross-functional touch points
Successfully manage multiple priorities, working independently or under direction of leadership
Your experience will include:
Graduate level with a strong academic track record
Keen interest in the retail industry and major appetite to build sector knowledge
Market and customer centric approach with the ability to critically analyse competitor activity, strengths and weaknesses
Highly analytical with strong problem solving skills
Highly numerate, with proven ability to manipulate and analyse data to solve commercial issues
Strong all round communication skills, both written and oral in order to source data, engage key stakeholders and convey conclusions to the business
Must be a team player, as this role is part of a small and highly effective team that needs to work as a unit
Intermediate Excel experience needed (Pivot Tables, Ifs formulas, Vlookup, Index Match)
Creation and adaptation of VBA scripts, MS Access and SQL knowledge (desirable, not essential)
