As Company Secretary Assistant for Argos Financial Services, you will support in the running of the governance function and the monthly business and governance routines including documentation. This involves ensuring key committee meetings run smoothly, documentation relating to these meetings is submissible to the Financial Services regulator and external auditors so it is vital these are completed to a high standard. This is a 6-month fixed term contract based at our office in Milton Keynes.

As Company Secretary Assistant, you will;
Support the AFS Deputy Company Secretary in maintaining the effective running of the Company Secretariat function, including but not limited to; agenda setting, paper collation, scheduling, taking minutes and accurately maintaining the actions log for the various committees, supporting the timely reviews, logistic arrangements for meetings, enforcement of appropriate documentation templates and adherence to the decision-making process.
Act as a first point of contact, liaising with internal and external contacts.
Respond efficiently to internal and external queries for corporate information and documents.
Liaise with the relevant PAs to ensure the smooth organisation of the key governance committees.
Liaise with other Group Company Secretarial functions, specifically Sainsbury’s Bank and provide them with additional support as required.
Document and maintain a record of papers, presentations and decisions taken at all of the key governance committees. You will also file and maintain all key governance papers and presentations and on the Argos Financial Services network and SharePoint committee site.
Work on specific projects as assigned.
Research, interpret information and compile reports, providing management information and make suitable recommendations where possible.
Prepare/produce a wide range of correspondence, forms, slide packs, records and reports and other material as required.
As Company Secretary Assistant, you will have;
Experience of working in a high-pressure environment, with tight time scales and fixed deadlines.
Experience of working in a fast-paced, large scale organisation, ideally in a multi-site retail based organisation.
Strong experience drafting and preparing all documentation for high level meetings.
Experience taking minutes and maintaining action logs for executive level organisational meetings.
A positive attitude to change and a flexible working style that can easily manage a fast-paced variable environment.
Strong organisational, numeracy and communication skills including high attention to detail and level of accuracy.
Experience of dealing with executive level stakeholders, and in confidently offering suggestions on how to improve work practices.
Knowledge and experience of working with SharePoint sites.
A strong ‘can-do’ positive attitude.
