Want to be part of one of the biggest acquisitions in recent retail history? We are looking for a Commercial Strategy Planner to help shape the direction of the Sainsbury’s Argos Non Food agenda.

As a Commercial Strategy Planner, you will support in influencing senior leaders across Non-Food and the wider business to develop, challenge and land the Non-Food vision.

You will focus on driving and delivering specific improvement projects across our existing core categories and supporting new business opportunities. Sound like your perfect next step?

As a Commercial Strategy Planner you will:

Lead, embed and review the annual strategy process ensuring corporate and customer goals are achieved
Deliver the strategy process through robust commercial analysis, financial modelling, business cases and other ad hoc analysis as appropriate
Deliver articulate conclusions orally and through written documentation and presentation’s, including provision of sound commercial recommendation’s up to senior director and board director level
Use a variety of influencing styles to effectively manage stakeholders to deliver results through others
Have an engaged and motivated team of two that consistently deliver against objectives and role model corporate values
Use your initiative to continually identify and execute opportunities that will drive the Commercial agenda to ensure sustainable business growth
Ensure the customer is at the heart of all decision making

Your experience will include:

Of graduate calibre, you will have demonstrable experience of delivering results either in strategy consulting or in a strategy/business development role with a retail or FMCG environment
Ability to objectively consider the big picture, through solving complex business problems and translating into clear actionable outcomes
Highly numerate, with proven ability to manipulate and analyse data to resolve commercial issues
Capable of multitasking across multiple projects
Efficient in project management with the ability to plan and co-ordinate multi-functional projects, with a proven track record of meeting tight and challenging timelines
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Powerpoint and Excel
