As Finance Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:
Prepare the weekly and periodic financial reporting for the Central Transport Team, presenting to both the team and central Finance.
Prepare plans and budgets for the Central Transport Team, obtaining mutual commitment and agreement whilst subsequently reviewing performance deviations and advising of required future corrective actions.
Attend weekly finance updates with the Central Transport Team, providing information, advice and interpretation of data thereby actively participating in the decision making process.
Evaluate tactical local Central Transport projects, understand how each will impact on the growth of Argos and retrospectively ensure that the stated benefits of each project are delivered to the business.
Control the accruals and payment process within Central Transport to ensure that the true business performance is reflected in the management accounts.
Monitor and advise the Central Transport team on financial procedures and processes.
Provide financial support to all ad-hoc analytical projects as appropriate.
Understand the environment within which distribution is based and ensure that any decisions taken within the Central Transport Team are carried out with full consideration of the financial impact upon Argos.
Your skills & experience will include:
Ideally be a Qualified Accountant - ACCA / CIMA.
Strong excel skills and the ability to work with large volumes of data.
Prior experience in a large company environment, preferably retail or distribution.
Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner.
Ability to work fluidly with data and across systems e.g. reporting tools.
Good inter-personal skills with the ability to influence effectively at all levels.
Be enthusiastic, positive and have ability to proactively engage with key Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
Possess a can-do attitude with an adaptable approach suitable to operating at pace and switching between priorities.
