Senior Strategic Project Manager

Right now our fantastic team are on the hunt for a Senior Strategic Project Manager at lead a team of Project Managers in driving strategic change across the business.

The team is responsible for delivering cross functional, strategic initiatives focused on optimising Sainsbury’s Argos’ ways of working.

This role offers broad visibility across the business and the opportunity to make significant impact across all areas. You will be leading high profile projects and challenging the business to make customer focused, data driven decisions. You should be comfortable applying strategic thinking but with a strong focus on delivery.

This role would be expected to take on all types of projects, that all feed into the overall digital roadmap of Sainsbury’s Argos. This role also has exposure to exec and board level so you should feel comfortable managing and communicating with stakeholders at this level.

Key responsibilities:

To lead and motivate a team to deliver significant change across the business
To lead, support and drive cross-functional initiatives that are part of the digital imperatives and roadmap. These projects will sit with broader stakeholder groups that may or may not be under one direct team.
To build strong stakeholder relationships across multi–facet teams, at all levels and to bring people together from different teams to deliver key business projects and impact
To be delivery focused – ability to take the lead in driving end to end initiatives towards both business and customer outcomes
To challenge business cases and initiatives to ensure projects put the customers and the business at the centre of decisions

Your skills and experience:

Leadership – requires the ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver high profile, strategic initiatives
Problem solving – requires the ability to solve problems and turn them into projects
Strategic thinking and delivery focus – requires the ability to both think strategically and delivery the desired outcome
Stakeholder management – requires the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels including influencing and managing conflict
Communication skills – requires the ability to engage with those at all levels
Data driven – requires some analytical thinking to inform decisions
