We are looking for a Business Development Tender Expert to join our Argos For Business Team.

This role will involve identifying and selecting relevant tenders for our business in identified industry sectors where our proposition gives us the best opportunity to win profitable business to support a sales target growth of doubling our merchandise sales over 3 years.

You will need to produce exceptional quality tender submission, tailored to the requirements of each client, producing the best possible pitch for the company in line with product catalogue and service packs. You will also need to quickly build industry sector knowledge to understand key requirements to pitch and win OJEU tenders and frameworks

As a Business Development Tender Expert you will:

Identify the most successful tender portals and created business cases to justify membership fees based on return on investment
Working with the National Sales Manager agree the target industry sectors and identify relevant tenders where our proposition meets the requirements and we have a strong chance of winning profitable business
Take ownership of individual tenders being handled by the department and control the key milestones within each submission
Ensure that all financials proposed are within agreed rate card or escalated to the relevant sign off forum for agreement
Achieve target for winning some agreed % of tenders per month and shared accountably for associated sales/profit target with the Sales Manager
Identify key stake holders who will be able to provide value add information and service to improve the success rate of winning business
Ensure that all data submitted is up to date and accurate and create a documents library for the storage of the data
Ensure all tenders are submitted to published deadlines by co-ordinating activities and production of information across all functions
Ability to sell the products and services within the product catalogue and service packs and to ensure the written portrayal of the company to the highest professional standard
Build industry sector knowledge and identify channels/forums to gain and build relationships that can support the success of winning tenders as well as promoting the Argos brand for supply to businesses

As a Business Development Tender Expert you will need:

Previous experience of tender management and execution
Industry Sector knowledge of tendering – public sector thresholds
Extensive knowledge of the B2B merchandise proposition
Proven track record of delivering successful tenders
Ability to work under pressure in a fast moving dynamic retail environment
Ability to deliver results as an individual and within a team
Confidence to influence and engage, building relationships with key stakeholders
Effective communicator, presenter, and team player
