National Sales Manager – Payments
Fixed Term Contract for 18 Months
We are looking for a dynamic, driven, National Sales Manager Payments expert to join our Argos For Business Team.
The main purpose of the role is to drive significant sales growth and profit from all Corporate Card Payments by forging relationships with banks and payment issuers to develop a sales plan of activity unique to business purchasers as well as identifying and driving improvements to the customer journey to make it easier for business to buy from us.
This role will also be a key member of the senior management team contributing to strategic decisions and taking ownership to making things happen.

As a National Sales Manager you will:
Create a strategic vision for targeting new businesses and sectors to acquire new Corporate Card customers.
Create a sales growth plan to double the sales over 3 years by working with Argos teams to identify and segregate Corporate B2B payment clients and create a marketing plan of targeted activity that is compelling and unique for business’s.
Establish profitability and insight reporting on the behaviour of the existing Corporate Card clients and make recommendations to stimulate working with the Argos Customer Insight team
Understand the split of sales across the banks, payment issuers and Crown Commercial Services and the breakdown of client and industry type as well as the acquisition journey for each and identify ways to acquire news clients, new channels and increased sales
Understand the competitors and their proposition and market share and create a plan for how we compete and win share
Identify new opportunity and channels, provider to attract new clients
Ensure that Marketing provide continuous reliable data source for outboarding and work with them to provide relevant tactical campaigns to increase sales
Develop stake holders across the Sainsbury’s /Argos business and create a compelling story for them to buy into the growth opportunity for businesses and to factor into their journeys and developments
Understand the needs of clients and their businesses and how we can differentiate the Argos proposition creating a development road map
As a National Sales Manager your experience will include:
5 years experience of working with the banking and payments sector.
Ability to build trusted relationships though confidence, trust, and experience
Ability to influence internally and externally at all levels
Strong commercial awareness and previous sales experience, preferably within a Retail B2B environment
Knowledge of improving customer journeys and feeding into development road maps.
Proven track record of delivering results to targets as an individual and within a team
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving dynamic retail environment
Confidence to influence and engage at all levels
