The Logistics Finance team is a team of financial professionals that drives business performance by effectively business partnering across the Logistics team. The team partners key stakeholders to make informed and effective commercial decisions and maximise value creation.
In this role, you will provide analytical support to the Distribution management team, including financial information and analysis, to help them make sound commercial business decisions. You will provide the Central Distribution Finance Analyst with both a short and long-term view of pertinent issues concerning the Distribution operation.
As Distribution Finance Assistant Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:
Consolidate and understand reporting for each site ensuring that all volumes, KPIs and costs are identified and reported upon on weekly & periodic basis.
Liaise, challenge and add value to the Distribution Finance team & key central stakeholders on both weekly & periodic performance.
Review interpretation and presentation of data both in terms of historical reporting or forward planning, to bring focus and meaningful insight.
Assist in constructing plans and budgets for Distribution ensuring that all deadlines are met and all inputs are accurately uploaded within the financial systems from all distribution sites.
To manage the central distribution balance sheet, check the integrity of balance sheet accounts belonging to all sites.
To control the accruals and prepayment process within Distribution to ensure true business performance is reflected in the Management Accounts.
Provide detailed analysis for the period end process including schedules produced for the Argos Redbook and the Distribution management reporting packs.
Manage and resolve issues between Distribution Finance, Third Party partners and Central Finance as appropriate.
Understand the environment in which Distribution is based and ensure that any decisions taken within Distribution are carried out with full consideration of the financial impact upon Argos.
Provide financial support to all adhoc analytical projects as appropriate.
Responsible for completing weekly cash reporting to business planning. This involves providing analysis on variances to forecast for all nine distribution centres.
Your skills & experience will include:
Graduate calibre professional studying towards a professional accounting qualification ideally ACCA or CIMA.
Analytical and commercial experience preferably in a large company environment.
Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to influence effectively at all levels.
Ability to exercise diplomacy in terms of potential areas of conflict and adapt their approach according to organisational requirements.
Strong analytical ability with Excel & Access skills.
Good inter-personal skills, an empathetic nature and a good sense of humour.
Be enthusiastic, positive and have ability to proactively engage with key Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
Possess can do attitude with an adaptable approach suitable to operating at pace and switching between priorities.
