Sainsbury’s Argos are currently looking for a Print and Pattern Designer, you will join the team to design, develop and deliver successful print and pattern to apply across product ranges including gifting, seasonal and home wares. We are looking for someone with an awareness of current and future lifestyle trends and an appetite for original design processes. Ideally you will have a commercial understanding of creating print and pattern within the retail sector and an ability to design for different customer types and lifestyles.

What I need to do
Design and brief commercial and original print and pattern for use on homeware, seasonal and gifting products.
Deliver creativity within the team to share print and pattern. Identify key trends, print, pattern, fabric choices and colour for individual department/category, whilst contributing to the overall strategic design direction.
Support the delivery of the design strategy and how original commercial design is attributed to sales, margin and profit, working across several product categories.
Have a strong awareness of trend and can produce commercial and relevant trends each season for the Sainsbury’s customer reflecting print and pattern direction.
Manage direct product development with oversees supply base.
Support the PR, Marketing and Media department with insights behind the creation of print and pattern.
What I need to know
University Degree within the creative industries study sector.
Recent relevant design experience (min 3 years industry experience within print and pattern)
Knowledge of brand management and a track record of delivering creativity with proven commercial results across print and pattern.
Relevant technical experience for given product range/ extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and working with suppliers.
Able to influence & communicate successfully across diverse audiences.
Some experience of team management.
Commercial awareness and proven creative ability.
Demonstrate a passion for the Sainsbury’s brand and a clear focus on the customer.
Computer literate with the ability to use Photoshop and Illustrator to a high standard.
