Picture yourself juggling a big handful of glass balls - you need to keep them all in air, at the same time as deciding when to throw another into the mix, while also calculating the best ways to get them higher. That’s what buying can be like. It should be a challenge you’ll relish.
You’ll want to be quick on your feet as you support Buyers, manage suppliers and arrange meetings. As any buying expert will tell you, it's all about co-ordination! There’s lots of room to show off your retail smarts, too: tell us the trends that’ll make our products fly off the shelves.
It’s a lot, but you won't be on your own. You’ll have a lovely, supportive team to help you keep pace, a generous helping of training and support. Step back after a few weeks and you’ll find you’ve helped to grow Sainsbury’s business, racked up a portfolio of skills, and set yourself up for a stellar career.
Personality is paramount: you're passionate, ambitious, a good networker, and resilient. Experience-wise, you might have a business, finance, retail or marketing background. And we’ll need you to be organised, efficient and good with spreadsheets. Put simply, you’re someone who gets things done.
