Set Builder

Bradwell Media is a hidden gem in Milton Keynes; Home to a hotbed of creative talent, we are the largest independent photographic and video studio in the UK. We produce around 45,000 photos and videos each year for major UK retailer Argos as well as Habitat.

We are looking for set builders to join us and work with our fantastic studio teams to help us create inspiring photography to enhance our extensive and hugely varied product ranges both online and in our print publications including our major UK retail websites, mobile and tablet apps, iconic catalogue and many supporting brochures, leaflets, flyers and store communications.

As you would expect from a business that moves at the pace Argos does, no two days tend to be the same, however, some of your day to day tasks will include...

Deliver high quality Set Building for all group projects across photographer and videographer production
Build cost estimates (inc materials, resource and time required) for builds against an initial brief, looking for opportunities to minimise cost and maximize quality of output. Finalise costs before the start of build and control costs against budget during the build
Obtain sufficient set build materials to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget. Often dealing directly with suppliers to negotiate the best possible rates.
Participate in the planning of content shoots, owning the plan for Set Build for each shoot, ensuring sufficient time for set build is incorporated and deadlines and budgets are adhered to.
Collate & review all brand guidelines on a regular basis, ensuring that all builds meet these guidelines and criteria.

What you need:

Experience working in a building, construction or decorating trades
Must have experience working with power tools
Must have experience of estimating & planning for building & decorating materials
Would be beneficial to have experience & knowledge in different Art work techniques (paint effects, texture effects, metal working, aging techniques)
Would be beneficial to have experience working in a photo studio or film industry set building environment
Would be beneficial to have City & Guilds Wiring installations
Would be beneficial to have NVQ health & safety
