Property Accounting Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Property Accounting Supervisor to join the Property Finance Team.

As a Property Accounting Supervisor, you will identify and implement opportunities to improve the Estates accounting and reporting processes and outputs. Also, producing occupancy finance reporting to enable estates finance manager to drive business performance. You will be responsible for executing information systems accounting processes (including period-end transactions and journals) in the core finance systems and validate outputs of direct reports to drive completion of accurate representative financial statements in line with the agreed deadlines and quality standards.

As Property Accounting Assistant Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:

Develop insights related to Occupancy costs which drive productive action /improved business performance.
Apply technical accounting expertise to facilitate internal audits and support external audit preparation.
Execute (through direct reports) the following Occupancy processes in line with pre-determined timelines and the financial controls framework submitting outputs to the Property & IS Accounting Manager for review:

- Balance sheet reconciliations

- Concessions income

- Review and posting of periodic journals for Rent, Rates and Service charges account (for both Sainsbury’s and Argos)

- Payment Authority Governance

Your skills & experience will include:

Ideally Part Qualified Accountant or equivalent
Ability to lead and manage / supervise a team.
Strong engagement, presentation and communication skills.
Organisational and prioritisation skills.
Experience in Estates / Property reporting would be ideal but not essential.
Experience in using systems that support financial accounting and reporting processes (e.g. Oracle, Lawson, Essbase, and other reporting tools)
