IT Commercial Vendor Manager

You will be joining Argos Technology where our aim is to make life better every day for Argos customers. We’re looking for astute and dedicated Commercial Manager with a strong background in large outsourced contracts covering both Applications and Infrastructure. You should be able to work either in isolation and be able to contribute to the wider Commercial Teams objectives.

Embedded within the IT Commercial Function you will have the ability to;
Negotiate and agree contracts with suppliers and manage them through their lifecycle as well as optimising value for money and ensuring that they remain aligned to business needs;
Leverage key supplier relationships to sustain competitive advantage and manage ongoing relationships with existing suppliers including issue and/or dispute resolution and contract termination;
Develop a comprehensive understanding of all financial and commercial aspects of managed service contracts including maintaining and tracking all volumetric data and associated impacts on operating plan;
Maintain a single and accurate view of agreed and speculative supply and demand at all times and lead all work on the active management of contractual volumetrics;
Report key financial performance metrics, highlighting or escalating areas of significant budget variance and managing these through to satisfactory resolution;
Actively contribute to cost saving challenges by identifying cost savings in contracts and monitoring usage/demand;
Provide vendor specific commercial expertise and advice to support procurement led contract negotiations, renegotiations or benchmarking reviews;
Ensure that service credits are tracked, claimed and reported accurately;
Ensure consistency and quality of contractual change control process across portfolio
Establish and manage a benchmarking roadmap to ensure value for money throughout the life of the contracts;
What do you have to achieve?
Support the Head of Vendor Mgmt in investigating, proposing and executing initiatives that deliver improved Managed Services provision and reduce costs;
Manage suppliers, internal resources and budget required to provide a quality externally managed IT service
Liaise with and influence all levels of internal and external stakeholders in order to get the required support and resources
Manage ongoing supplier and contract performance;
Ensure that the supplier meets its contracted obligations;
Regularly review contracted service scope against business needs;
Manage commercial disputes;
Review and report on the quality of the Managed Service provision;
Review contracts that are up for renewal to ensure that original contracted outcomes were achieved;
Supplier Business Performance Management
Establish supplier relationship governance (supplier relationship roles, responsibilities and governance meetings);
Authorise Investment proposals;
Review supplier performance and raise service improvements when needed;
Determine the appropriateness of existing contractual arrangements and ensure that supplier relationships are developed in line with IT Strategy;
Work with Finance Team to undertake supplier budget management (including spend forecasting and budget tracking);
Manage the relationship with the specific Managed Service suppliers to ensure the provision of specific technical skills required to fix complex or severe incidents/problems;
Ensure effective communication between specific Manager Service suppliers and internal/external resources as appropriate;
Work with the Head of Strategy & Planning to establish sourcing strategies by reviewing analyses & market trends, carrying out cost analysis and recommending a strategic approach;
Evaluate overall best value with the appropriate level of risk for the business;
Propose, secure management approval and implement strategic sourcing strategies;
Influence strategies of suppliers to be more aligned with Sainsbury’s Argos strategies and objectives
