As the Fraud Risk Manager, you will manage a team whose aim is to actively support the Argos Financial Services store card business within the areas of fraud credit strategy. You will develop and maintain an optimal fraud credit strategy which enhances the overall profitability of the AFS business.

As the Fraud Risk Manager, you will:
Develop and maintain, through identifying and exploiting business opportunities, the fraud risk strategies with a clear emphasis on profitability and business priority.
Monitor, evaluate and assess all aspects of fraud risk strategies from a fraud risk perspective; communicate results, conclusions and recommendations to senior management.
Ensure that the relevant operational areas understand their role within the fraud risk strategies, with monitoring of their ongoing compliance of the fraud policy.
Ensure that policy, strategy and process combine to optimise profitability from a fraud perspective.
Liaise with other functional areas (as appropriate) to ensure the communication, understanding and satisfactory application of changes to the fraud strategy and policy.
Ensure that projects are carried out effectively, efficiently and within timescales.
Manage and develop a motivated team, identifying and facilitating a positive learning environment through the Personal Development Review process.
As the Fraud Risk Manager, you will have:
An analytical background, with at least three years experience working in a fraud environment.
Working knowledge of fraud systems/data (e.g. Synectics Solutions SIRA/Call Credit Call Validate)
Proven management experience.
High levels of statistical competence with understanding and experience of Multiple Regression, Decision Tree analysis and use of statistical packages (e.g. SAS or SPSS).
Experience in storing, querying and manipulating data held in a relational database (e.g. SQL).
Strong MS Office skills, a high level of skill in MS Excel is essential.
Sound commercial awareness.
The ability to access information from a variety of sources to test the accuracy and consistency of available business data and to identify key issues.
Skills to back up conclusions with logical analysis.
Creativity in seeing how different new options could bring business benefits.
The ability to resolve less straightforward issues, taking decisions based on a common-sense assessment of the pros and cons.
Confident communication skills, a strong presence in a group, gaining and holding attention when speaking and being able to convey complex information in plain language to wider business.
A graduate degree in a numerate discipline (ideally mathematics or statistics).
In addition to the above, it would also be advantageous if you have experience working within a financial services organisation, in particular retail credit, a working knowledge of financial crime and an understanding of scorecard development and the use of scorecards within fraud rules and strategies.
