We are launching our next brand new Regional Fulfilment Centre (RFC) in Birmingham. This fantastic new centre is enabling us to put the customer at the heart of our network by delivering 53,000 products for our customers same day – an industry leading proposition. To help support the overall smooth running of the site a number of opportunities has arisen for an ambitious individual to develop their logistics, warehousing and distribution career as an RFC Team leader. This is a truly exciting time to join the company, as we continue our exciting plans to truly give our customer what they want when they want it.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting in to one of the RFC Service Managers you will play a pivotal role in supporting the management and smooth operational performance in respect of achievement of critical KPI's for the site. This will be realised through resource and planning skills and managing a team of RFC colleagues.
The RFC is operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week so you will need to have the flexibility to cover rotas across our operating hours.
Here are some of things you will be doing:
Oversee the unloading, loading, picking and packing, monitoring, labelling and scanning of consignments in and out of the warehouse
Maintain a clean, tidy and correctly organised warehouse and yard area
Coordinate with internal departments and customers
Give guidance so that your team work to a high standard of quality and accuracy
Motivate and inspire team members
Allocate and communicate job expectation clearly
Monitor work flow and be able to react positively should the need arise
Determine colleague levels and adjust work load priorities accordingly, in order of agreed schedule
Observe and identify elements of work, process and housekeeping, each day that require attention and correction to ensure a constant high standard
What you’ll need
To join us, you’ll need to be customer focused and a true team player. It would be ideal if you’ve worked in this type of environment before, but don’t worry if you haven’t as you’ll be fully trained
Customer focus, effective communication skills, an eye for detail and a can-do attitude are must-haves but you will also need to have the following:
Strong Leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team in a challenging environment
Ability to coach diverse teams and show leadership with setting an example
Ability to follow work procedures and instructions within a strong environment
Ability to count accurately and to perform simple math calculations, able to read, understand and follow instruction
Ability to complete paperwork acutely and the ability to coach others
Able to use own initiative to solve problems and proactively implement the solution
Good analytical and numerical skills.
