As Head of Enterprise Risk, you’ll provide Senior Risk oversight, direction and support to the Argos Financial Services Business on the implementation and embedding of the Enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework. With a team of 4 Risk Managers you will lead the development of the framework to enable identification and assessment of material risks, incorporating management tools, techniques and aggregation of risk reporting to support the business.
This is a certified role in line with FCA/PRA guidelines and requirements and you can be based in either Milton Keynes, Bolton or Widnes.

As Head of Enterprise Risk you will:
Lead, develop and implement a robust and effective operational risk management culture, policies, processes and controls within AFS, in line with the policies and standards set out in the Bank Enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework
Acts as a source of professional expertise to evaluate, review and mitigate the potential for risk across the business.
Directing and overseeing the provision of expert and professional subject-matter advice and guidance to colleagues on Operational risk management matters, including risk control and management best practice, that supports the business in balancing customer, commercial and Risk interests so it can achieve its strategic objectives while operating within AFS’ risk appetite
Influencing managers and senior managers to ensure that risk management and the business control environment is given sufficient focus on the management agenda.
Present an aggregate view of KRI performance and risk on a monthly basis for review by AFS and Bank governance. Consider any developing themes and highlight any areas for discussion and challenge
Lead and manage a high performing team, developing colleagues through stretching objectives, feedback and coaching.
As Head of Enterprise Risk you will have:
Experience of holding a senior management role within a risk and control function in a financial services business
Experience of implementing and applying operational risk management principles and practice in a financial services business and strong awareness of the control environment within a financial services organisation
Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, at both senior management and operational levels within a business
Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive a high performing culture
The experience to be able to deliver results in periods of change and uncertainty
Banking or Finance qualifications as a preference
