Head of Internal Communications

The Role:

Have you heard of Sainsbury’s Argos? Two iconic brands came together last year, and we lovingly call our bit - the non-food business of Sainsbury’s – Sainsbury’s Argos. It’s the newly-formed non-food subsidiary of Sainsbury’s, encompassing the supermarket group’s non-food business (including clothing), Argos and Habitat.

We’re just starting out on an ambitious growth plan; to continue transform our business into a digital leader, adding Argos stores into Sainsbury’s stores and leveraging both supply chains where possible.

With these ambitious plans, will come change, and the need to create effective communication strategies that engage, educate and inform our 30,000 colleagues about our vision, successes and people priorities.

The purpose of this role is to provide communication consulting, support and counsel to primarily the Sainsbury’s Argos CEO and HR Director, but also the Sainsbury’s Argos board of Directors. You will also ensure that the Sainsbury’s Argos Communications Strategy and approach is aligned with Sainsbury’s corporate communication. This role will ultimately report into the Sainsbury’s Communications Director, but key stakeholders will be the HR Director and CEO of Sainsbury’s Argos.

As part of the HR Leadership Team at Sainsbury’s Argos, we are looking for someone who will challenge, bring real pace and passion to our communications team, and engage stakeholders at all levels. You’ll be leading a team of 5, which is likely to increase as the team communications team becomes one.

If you have experience in a large, complex organisation of running an internal communications function, you lead with passion and bring others with you, achieve through people by stretching performance and you can deliver results through ownership, drive and resilience then we’d love to hear from you.
