As the Compliance Monitoring Officer, you will undertake compliance monitoring reviews of practices and processes across Argos Financial Services and associated business partners and distributors against all regulatory requirements set by the Financial Conduct Authority and other regulatory organisations.
This role will assist with assessing the effectiveness of business systems and controls in place to ensure they remain compliant, mitigate and manage conduct risk and treat customers fairly.

As Compliance Monitoring Officer, you will:
Undertake the regular preparation, documentation, testing and reporting of monitoring activity undertaken, including reporting of the outstanding actions and regulatory impacts.
Document and maintain effective Compliance Monitoring Procedures.
Regularly review Monitoring Procedures to ensure they reflect processes being operated.
Assist the Senior Compliance Monitoring and Assurance Manager in the planning and delivery of the Annual Compliance Plan, including updates as required.
Deputise for the Senior Compliance Monitoring and Assurance Manager as required.
Maintain updated knowledge in respect of UK regulations (and European Directives) for FCA, FLA, Data Protection, AML and Financial Crime. Regulatory knowledge must be maintained to facilitate the provision of accurate assessment of systems and controls within the business.
Display energy, enthusiasm and drive towards managing a monitoring function and all areas of the role, whilst maintaining organised, accurate and timely reporting.
As Compliance Monitoring Officer, you will have:
A minimum of two years’ experience in a compliance function.
A strong understanding of regulatory requirements, specifically the FCA Handbook.
Experience of DISP.
The ability to assess and support the business in managing ethical regulatory and reputational risks.
Good stakeholder management skills, having the ability to engage senior members of management across both the FS and Retail teams to develop a good compliance understanding.
Excellent communication skills along with the ability to influence at all levels.
A high degree of resilience, as judgements made by the job holder can result in a position of conflict with commercial requirements and an ability to balance compromise.
The ability to work within a demanding, time-critical environment.
In addition to the above, it would also be advantageous if you have experience of Financial Promotions Sign off, demonstrable experience in analysing MI and a relevant industry qualification, however these are not essential to apply.
