As the Senior Business Analyst you will provide expertise to the Argos Financial Services (AFS) Change function in support of the business change portfolio of programmes and projects. Your core role will be to provide leadership of our Business Analysis capability in line with Sainsbury’s Bank’s analysis function and role modelling best practice to support effective delivery of our business change plans.
Every project that is delivered is impacting our customer in some way. Part of the Senior Business Analyst role is to confirm and document those impacts and update them throughout the lifecycle of projects if they change.

As the Senior Business Analyst you will:
Be responsible for the effective collating and documenting of user requirements, achieved through conducting interviews, facilitating workshops and researching data.
Identify and work with key stakeholders to support effective capture and communication of business requirements for programmes and projects.
Employ MS Visio to create and verify business processes, communicating these to all relevant stakeholders.
Work closely with all project related colleagues, such as Programme Managers, Project Managers, Business Architects, Test teams and PMO, to ensure full support of deliverables for programmes and projects.
Create a structured business analysis methodology and associated document templates, in line with Sainsbury’s Bank models, in order to model business processes and systems. The use of business, process, data and workflow models will help to organise the business requirements information into coherent ideas.
Identify any key dependencies with other change in the business and work with the relevant stakeholders to determine and manage any impacts.
Proactively manage and escalate any concerns that may affect delivery of; the objectives and benefits in the business case for our customers, our colleagues and our business, the project timeline, the agreed quality of the products and the project within the agreed budget.
Ensure documentation is in line with agreed standards.
Ensure business analysis practices are managed in line with the Risk Management Framework.
Support the Programme and Project Management through lifecycle of projects in regards to business analysis and business requirements.
Proactively build relationships with all key stakeholders, including at Executive level.
Ensure all stakeholders are aware of their role and expectations throughout the projects and how they can support the Business Analysis function, and are up to speed with progress and issues throughout the projects.
Plan and manage the communication of any changes internally and externally where appropriate, including communicating with external suppliers.
Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather and review requirements, design plans, mitigate risks and resolve issues.
Lead and support the Business Analysts within AFS and work with Sainsbury’s Bank to ensure alignment of best practices and methodologies between the businesses.
Have an awareness of business strategy and its links to business change for AFS to ensure continual consideration of longer term business objectives is given when working on programmes and projects.
As the Senior Business Analyst you will have:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Business Analysis role.
Experience in business process modelling.
The ability to capture clear and measurable requirements.
Experience of managing multiple projects in a demanding environment whilst retaining a focus on priorities.
The ability to effectively design, lead and facilitate workshops and meetings to support business analysis requirements.
The ability to forge and maintain relationships internally and externally.
Experience of Stakeholder Management across a variety of sites (including Exec level and suppliers).
Strong communication skills with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
The ability to make cross-functional links across the business and link strategic goals with ‘in year’ activities.
Experience managing technical and people based change, and of building a Business Analyst change capability.
The confidence to challenge existing process and practises where change is occurring.
Strong team leader skills to motivate engage your team.
Strong knowledge of Business Analysis best practice methodologies (e.g. BPML).
A willingness to travel across sites.
In addition to the above, the below attributes would be advantageous:
Experience of MS Visio (2010 / 2013 / 2016) as a modelling tool.
Experience of managing project Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies.
An ability to translate technical data into business terms.
A thorough understanding of the Retail Financial Services / Banking business and the regulatory landscape in which it operates.
Business Analysis / Process / Modelling qualifications (e.g. ISEB)
