A fantastic opportunity has become available to join the Argos Finance team as an Assistant Central Finance Analyst. Sitting within the Argos Business Planning Team, the Central & Establishment Finance Team is responsible for providing financial support, reporting and controls to central functions.
This covers payroll, rent, rates, utilities and other overheads. Central Finance focus on the payroll and overheads element of this and support c.80 cost centre owners in controlling their costs by providing reporting and analysis in an accurate and timely manner.

As an Assistant Central Finance Analyst, your duties will include:
Assisting the Central Finance Analyst in closing out the period in accordance with the required timescales
Producing period end reporting to a high standard of accuracy and in accordance with required timescales, ensuring good quality commentary giving valuable insight in to key variances
Preparing the non-payroll budget and forecast, identifying and giving insight into the key movements from the previous submission, and present the results in a clear and comprehensive style
Assisting cost centre owners by providing insightful analysis where required in a timely manner
Continuously assessing reporting that is produced and be proactive in identifying areas that can be simplified, standardised or removed.
Your experience will include:
Being of a graduate calibre or equivalent (essential)
Willingness to pursue a professional finance qualification – CIMA / ACCA / ACA (essential)
Strong communication skills (essential)
Good excel skills and the ability to work with large volumes of data (essential)
Prior experience within finance (desired)
The success of the role will be determined by a high quality output, in a timely manner. The job holder will be highly motivated. The job holder will be proactive and able to communicate well. The ability to identify areas for further analysis to improve the efficiency of the team and cost controls across the business will be key.
