A newly created role is now available for an Import Planning Manager to join our Transport Department within Argos.
You would be responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing initiatives to improve the flow of goods (Cost, time and visibility) across our imports program. Ensuring maximum availability of imported stock through our Supply Chain to our customers. Partner with Operations, Central Imports, Transport, IT, Retail and Finance teams to support critical new business initiatives and drive continues improvement in all aspects of our imports program.
You will closely monitor performance metrics of Import Supply Chain to assist with driving performance improvements. Manage and ownership of the container storage plan and requirement (Off dock). Ensure container storage plan is fit for future and manage off dock relationships. Provide forward planning of container inbound to ensure risks and rewards actioned and ensure container planning framework is fit for purpose and embedded into ways of working.
You would be based at our Magna Park Distribution Centre in Lutterworth but also be required to work out of our Milton Keynes office with our Imports team, support between the teams is critical to the success of this role.
You will have at least 5 years’ experience in Import Operations / Supply Chain / Logistics / Transport Management. Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with proven ability to manage, influence, negotiate, and communicate with external business partners and internal teams to meet operational performance goals.
An ability to work independently in a fast paced environment where continuous innovation is desired, maintain strong focus on detail, prioritise workloads, and always meet deadlines. Experience analysing data and communicating the results to senior stakeholders. Committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge.
