The Product Management team at Argos owns the vision, with the goal of constantly delivering value for customers. We define and deliver new initiatives, address new customer experience issues and find creative ways to apply ourselves to these challenges daily.
You’ll have exposure to a range of stakeholders across the business, and the opportunity to shape aspects of Sainsbury’s Argos’ colleague facing apps and products to deliver engaging experiences, all whilst using a range technology.
About this specific role:
In this role, you’ll define and deliver the roadmap for the Checkout customer experience across web and apps.
Your mission: minimise friction and complexity for customers, making checkout a pleasurable, enjoyable experience, so customer can checkout and complete their purchases with ease.
Using data and metrics (both qual. and quant.), you’ll identify frictions points and experience improvement opportunities, understand why customers are struggling, and design and deliver experiences to resolve them.
To support our ongoing strategy to replatform our website, your roadmap will seek to quickly improve experiences whilst meeting the strategic desire to move to a new technology stack.
You’ll work within a close-knit team who have overall ownership of the Bottom of Funnel space including Basket, Checkout Services, Your Account and Post Order Communications, so they’ll be plenty of support, and opportunity for working collaboratively.
Naturally, Checkout brings together many aspects of the customer experience including stock and price messaging, credit plans, product care, delivery slots and services. You’ll work closely with other product managers and stakeholders from these areas. Your aim will be to advocate for the customer so whilst supporting these other areas, the overall checkout experience remains simple and pleasurable to use.
Engage BU stakeholders as key partners in delivering change in fundamental content processes
Build and curate the backlog for your teams, leading them through the process from vision to solution to delivery
Define best practices/workflows for creating, vetting, publishing and mapping data to consumers and the end customer
Coordinate cross-functional projects with a broad range of product owners, subject matter experts, system architects/engineers, etc.
Monitor relevant industry trends and engage in both internal and external teams as appropriate to build shared insight
Evangelize the benefit of high quality and customer centric data across Sainsbury’s Argos
Education & Experience
Degree educated in a data focused technical discipline (Masters level preferred) or equivalent professional experience
Experience in product management in a digital industry
Experience developing, managing, integrating and mapping data from various sources so they are fit for purpose from multiple consumers
Working knowledge of different financial products (cares, credit card, FPP etc)
An understanding of what characteristics of different products drive different content needs
Experience implementing/complying with industry metadata standards
