As Head of Cards Product Management, you will design, oversee and implement our Cards business strategies. You will proactively own and manage the Cards P&L and financial performance while managing Cards in line with Argos Financial Services' conduct, operational and credit risk appetites.

In this role, you’ll report into the Head of Product and Commercial Management.
As Head of Cards Product Management, you will:
Establish and manage the key strategic priorities for the Cards business, including oversight of the development agenda.
Act as the senior AFS representative in all day-to-day and escalated matters relating to Cards including formal governance, commercial developments and contract negotiations. You will also be a key contributor to AFS’ Operating Committee and other integration forums.
Work with the Customer team to ensure that Cards meet the needs and expectations of our customer base and achieve AFS' growth and profitability objectives.
Design and implement the acquisition and back book product strategies for Cards, working with the Customer, Trading and Pricing teams to ensure our proposition and pricing for acquisition, balance growth, spend, retention and re-price strategies for existing customers are optimised.
Leverage relationships with 3rd party suppliers, particularly card schemes, ensuring AFS' Supplier Management Framework is fully embedded in all relationships.
Develop the AFS Cards strategy, including identifying opportunities to work with Sainsbury’s Bank and other third parties to broaden cards product offering.
Ensure the business delivers on AFS' First Line of Defence responsibilities.
Lead a high performing team of subject matter experts to ensure that the revenue and development objectives of the team are met.
Set and deliver against challenging medium and long term objectives on financial and volume performance of all product, generating and then maintaining strong growth trajectories.
Develop greater insight into portfolio dynamics, payment behaviour, sales behaviour and customer trends.
As Head of Cards Product Management, you will have:
Extensive experience in a senior product management position, with P&L responsibility.
In-depth technical knowledge of Store and Credit Cards.
Proven leadership and relationship management experience across teams and in a matrix management organisation.
Project management skills in complex multi-functional projects, including platform/book migration.
Experience with developing, negotiating and managing legal contracts for the delivery of financial services is essential.
A holistic understanding of the economic, regulatory, and organisational environment in which AFS and Sainsbury’s Bank operates.
A strong awareness and understanding of conduct risk, specifically the delivery of fair customer outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, with proven understanding of the value of research and understanding customer needs and expectations.
The ability to challenge colleagues in a collaborative and constructive manner, have the courage to pose questions to ensure the right, fact based decisions are always made, and can represent/understand the perspective of all internal and external stakeholders.
A proven ability to influence and achieve buy-in to strategies and plans and to motivate around a solution.
